The Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH (Wood K plus) sees the Bioeconomy Austria network as a great opportunity to anchor the bioeconomy as a key issue for Austria and Europe in politics and society. Innovative solutions for new materials from renewable raw materials such as wood and new efficient process technologies for businesses are needed above all for implementation. This is precisely the research expertise and mission of Wood K plus. On the one hand, Bioeconomy Austria should open up opportunities for new partnerships, ideas and initiatives. On the other hand, for the necessary transformation process to succeed, sufficient funds for basic and applied research must also be provided by the public sector. After all, the bioeconomy is the only holistic path to a sustainable and climate-neutral economy.
