proHolz Tirol is the association representing the forestry and timber industries of Tyrol. It is divided into three business areas: Wood Information, Wood Cluster, and Wood Education. Within these fields, the association consolidates its activities to promote the increased use of wood — a natural product of high ecological and economic value — along the entire forest-wood value chain.
In the current project phase of Bioeconomy Austria, proHolz Tirol focuses on the initiative for the value-oriented use of biogenic raw materials, with particular emphasis on the sustainable and efficient utilization of wood. Another key area of work — building on the results of the 2022–2024 project phase — is the further development of the wood flow model for the Tyrol model region. The data and insights from this model will be prepared for communication purposes, both within the industry and for the general public. In addition, proHolz Tirol contributes to advancing initiatives related to circular products and lightweight construction with wood.
Furthermore, proHolz Tirol pursues target group–specific communication on the wood-based bioeconomy, both within the industry and beyond. One of its key objectives is to raise public awareness of the use of wood and wood-based products in the context of the bioeconomy.
