The association “BIOS Science Austria – Association for the Promotion of Life Sciences” has its registered office in Vienna and carries out its activities in the entire federal territory of Austria. Beyond that, activities in other countries are permissible. The association, whose activities are not aimed at profit, wants to promote research and teaching in the field of life sciences in Austria and the networking and cooperation of the relevant institutions as well as to make their achievements known to the public. Behind “BIOS Science Austria” is an association that brings together the relevant institutions of the life science scene. The University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU), the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management (BML) and institutions such as the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), the Federal Research and Training Center for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape (BFW), the Federal Environmental Agency (UBA), the Federal Agency of Water Management (BAW), the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein and the Federal Institute of Agricultural Economics and Mountain Farming Research (BAB) as well as the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Ecosocial Forum Austria & Europe (ÖSF) want to bundle resources in the field of life sciences, coordinate topics and thus create synergiesThe non-profit assciation BIOS Science Austria aims to identify and initiate joint research concerns and also to participate in R&D projects in an operational and coordinating capacity.
