With around 720 employees, ADLER is Austria’s leading manufacturer of coatings, paints and wood preservatives. Founded in 1934 by Johann Berghofer, the family business is now managed by the third generation, Andrea Berghofer. 21,000 tons of paint leave the ADLER-Werk Lackfabrik every year and go to customers in over 30 countries worldwide. ADLER has sales companies in Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia; the only production site is the ADLER-Werk Lackfabrik in Schwaz / Tyrol (A). ADLER is the market leader in Austria in the field of furniture varnishes and window coating systems as well as in the do-it-yourself sector. Do-it-yourself products are sold in the approximately 120 paint stores operated by ADLER Farbenmeister as well as in selected hardware stores. As one of the first companies in its industry, ADLER has been producing in a 100% climate-neutral manner since 2018. Through a variety of measures, ADLER has reduced its carbon footprint to a minimum. ADLER compensates unavoidable residual emissions through recognized climate protection certificates and thus contributes to the financing of new climate protection projects.
