BLOOM was a project funded by the European Commission and carried out from 2017 to 2020. The aim of the project was increasing knowledge and raising awareness about bioeconomy amongst the European population. Our network partner, the Center for Social Innovation (ZSI), was leading the project.
Our partner at Bioeconomy Austria , the Ecosocial Forum Austria & Europe, was involved in this project alongside 12 other organizations. The partners came from all over the EU: Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Germany and Austria. The Ecosocial Forum acted as the “hub leader” for Austria & Germany.
Since 2017, these activities – in Austria alone – have established contacts with more than 90 stakeholders from politics, business, research and society and jointly developed measures. The outcomes of these activities have reached a total of over 100,000 people.
Through study tours, a TV discussion, short documentaries, exhibitions, webinars and many other formats, intensive dialogue was conducted with a total of more than 1,500 people. The project also had a focus on schools with project schools in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Israel, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
Through BLOOM and other projects, the Ecosocial Forum Austria & Europe was able to gain a lot of experience in the field of knowledge, awareness and network building in the field of bioeconomy – hence an ideal foundation for building a gateway to the Austrian bioeconomy with Bioeconomy Austria!
