The aim of the joint project between acatech and TU Dresden, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), is to analyse the current state of the wood-based bioeconomy in Germany and, in particular, to identify new innovative wood-based technologies and products based on current research results. For this purpose, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Saxony are to be considered as model regions. Obstacles in the practical introduction are to be identified and, in particular, options for action for the implementation and expansion of a sustainable bioeconomy are to be presented in an acatech position. In doing so, advantages and disadvantages are to be named and evaluated with the involvement of society.
